Keeping Journal/Diary is absolutely not my cup of tea. I tried to start writing diary in Primary School but discontinued after several days. When I start to get overloaded in Secondary School I tried to keep one but failed. In University it gets even harder to remember and plan things and still, I am not a fan of keeping a Journal. Mainly because of laziness, and not enough time to jot down things pop out in my head during an unusual visit of a certain urban places in Hong Kong, or different thoughts appeared in my mind when I went to Taiwan alone. There is too much to write down, to record. I hope there is a device that can capture the whole life with a movie, of course prefered in HD or even high resolution. Notes or Diary are kept are mostly for helping people to memorize things or record a history. History is very important as it is a track of our lifes, footprints of the human civilization. In a recent news read online it is find that although the flow and storage of information is a light year ahead compared to the last century, data kept in computer are volatile. It gave an example of the disappearance of nearly 200+ websites related to George Bush immediately after the end of his administration. A university therefore try to snapshot all the data (well...) in the internet. Years ago I also came across a news which was about leaving a DVD on Mars containing DNA data, and all the other information about human so that aliens, if there were, could get to know about us. We record information, writing history, simply because we want something concrete left behind after our death. |
